1811 EDINBURGH A Set 6 Solid Silver Dessert Spoons, Inscribed with a D

The spoons were produced by John Graham, Jeweller and silversmith, of Potter-row in the city centre close to Edinburgh University. They were assayed at Edinburgh Assay Office in 1811, his sponsor's mark noted there, being (upper case) "I O" in a rectangle, between 1805 and 1813.
 
Hallmarking -
(triple) castle - Edinburgh town mark
thistle - Edinburgh sterling silver standard mark
lower case Latin letter "f" - Edinburgh date letter for 1811
monarch's head (George III) - duty paid.
 
Condition - excellent. No damage at all, just the light rubbing etc coming over 200 years.
 
Design etc. - all as in photos, long slender spoons with well-pointed bowls, just a heel of rat tail at the reverse of bowl/stem join, a slight shaping on the reverse of handle terminal; each terminal engraved with a script letter "D".

All our vintage and antique items are in used condition and may show signs it has had use.
They will not however have any major flaws that we will not mention.
