1918 Hallmarked Antique Solid Silver Viking Serving Spoons (Cased Pair). London

A fantastic, cased pair of Sterling Silver Viking serving spoons.

Hallmarked Wakely & Wheeler in London 1918.

The highly ornate handles display a Viking ship on the waves, the helmeted head of a warrior, the heads of sea monsters, twisting ropes and a lion's head. The detailed decoration covers all sides of the handles. There is a very faint number (presumably an inventory number) above the hallmarks on both spoons but the spoons otherwise are in excellent condition with no damage and little if any wear.
The exterior of the leather-covered, silk or satin (I'm not 100% sure which!) lined case shows some signs of wear.

Dimensions:- spoons: approximately 17cm by 6.3cm (at their widest);
The case: approximately 22cm by 16cm & approximately 3.5cm deep.
Weight: one spoon weighs 62g & the other weighs 61g (123g total).

We are selling the silver items and the case/box is extra. Seeing the box often indicates that the item has been well protected over the years.
